Isabel is a marine scientist, specialized in coral conservation and restoration. From 2018 to 2019 she was a National Geographic Explorer. From 2016-2019 She has been a research Assistant in coral cryopreservation at the Smithsonian Institution and she is currently working at the University of Technology in Sydney and has her PhD in coral restoration.

She is the founder of the nonprofit People of the Water, organized to widen the distribution of training, education, research related to our oceans and environmental issues. Her work can be summarized in these words: Exploration, Education and Conservation.
